// THE MANIFESTO

Knowledge belongs
to the people,
not the gatekeepers.

Geek College is the missing semester for life — the class no school offers. How college admissions actually work when you're applying to the USA from abroad, what financial aid forms really ask, the English that matters in the real world, and what to do when home isn't an option.

It exists for people in the middle of a hard transition — leaving an unsafe home, applying to college from another country, or building a life in a new language. Our readers are smart and motivated. What they lack is local knowledge, not ability.

We are a map, not an encyclopedia. We point to resources most people never think to search, and hand you the system's own vocabulary — the words you only know if you're already inside it. The right term turns a dead-end search into an answer, and gives an AI agent the structure it needs to do its magic.

Every guide is free, open, and written in plain international English. No tuition, no paywall, no account required. We lead with the $0 path, define every term the first time it appears, and never promise outcomes nobody can guarantee.

We build guides the way open source builds software: in public, reviewed by the community, and updated as the world changes. When something is outside our lane — legal or immigration advice — we say so and point you to people qualified to help.
